Privacy
This is an independent fan page for the documentary How to Live on Earth. It is run by Rakesh Menon as a personal project and is not affiliated with Open Planet Studios or the filmmakers. It has no ads, no accounts and no forms, and nothing about you is sold.
Without your consent
If you do not accept analytics, the page stores nothing about you and sends nothing to Google Analytics. Fonts, images and scripts are served from this site itself. The site is hosted by Netlify, which processes your IP address to deliver the page and keep it secure, as any web host does.
Analytics, only if you accept
If you press Accept, the page loads Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) to count visits and see which parts people use. It records:
- pages viewed, time on page and how far you scroll
- which sections you reach, and clicks on the film, sound, reef, share, FAQ and puzzle controls
- general technical details: browser, device type, screen size, language
- approximate location (country and city, derived by Google; Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses)
- the site that sent you here
Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Google may process data outside the EU under its standard contractual clauses; see Google's privacy policy.
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Tells visits apart | 2 years |
_ga_PCRH96D5KG | Keeps the current session | 2 years |
Your choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage (hle_consent) so the question is not asked on every visit.
Change your mind
You can switch analytics on or off at any time. Turning it off deletes the analytics cookies on this site.
The film player
The film is hosted on YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. When you do, the player loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and Google's privacy policy applies to what you watch there.
Your rights and contact
You can ask what data relates to you, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to rakesh at sublimecoder dot io. Because analytics data is pseudonymous, the easiest way to stop collection is the button above.
